Not - ' Been There Done That '

Realised that I am missing out on world-wide recognition by *NOT* doing the following

1) Residing in USA or Mexico
2) Carrying a handycam
3) Scanning the skies after every 1 hour

( Realisation after watching reports on how people have filmed UFOs flying over the American and Mexican skies )

The Lasagne Fiasco

It happened one lunchtime, when Deepali and I went to this pretty cafe in Pune. (Ethics (dunno which ones exactly, u know how we have medical ethics etc) forbid me from disclosing the name of this place.

The menu looks different, a mixture of Italian and Thai with a li'l bit of Indian thrown in for good measure. We venture forth, placing an order of Paneer Kathi Rolls, Baked Potato and Cheese and Vegetable Lasagne.

The food, when it arrives, looks mouth-watering. But how it looks is not always how it tastes. Maybe its just a coincidence that I have a tickling sensation in my throat and other brand new cold symptoms after eating a forkful of lasagne.

Moral of the story for me: Ensure that the majority portion of your lunch menu is Indian

My 6 Commandments

To be completed ... Still thinkin ......

1. Thou shalt have only one piece of cake (to avoid disupute, a piece measures 4cm*4cm*4cm)
2. Thou shalt not shut off the alarm clock and go back to sleep
3. Thou shalt not play badminton till you feel you would have been better off without your legs and hands
4. Thou shalt say NO to people dishing out a second helping of Ras Malai
5. Thou shalt not check out yours and other people's blog 10 times a day
6. Thou shalt not take 20 minutes for a 5 minute coffee break

It was those eyes, more than anything else, that sent shudders down my spine. Flashing like those of a wild animal in intense agony but full of hatred.
If looks could kill, I wouldn't be writing this post.

From far, I could see a crowd on the middle of the road, and as I got nearer the group was thinning out.

What was he doing there all alone, crouching bang in the middle of the road, his forehead covered with blood, clothes tattered ?

He knew no fear. He did not make way, even for the bus.

Was he a victim of an accident or some bloody feud and what was he doing there? I'll never know .........

Its sounds so odd to miss people you dont even know. A 40 person project group in my workhall is shifting to a building next door. The thing is, I have never worked with them and never found the need to interact with any one of them on a personal level either.
But I had got so used to them moving about, always keeping the workhall sort of alive. On the odd weekends or late nights that I had to work, I knew some of them would always be there and I never felt lonely.

Its their comforting presence that I shall miss, very badly.

Its human nature to subconsciously evaluate a person right from the minute you meet him / her. And in the virtual blogging world, you have ample enough opportunity to imagine what the person is like, from the posts. Sometimes I feel I have no right to intrude upon someone's thoughts when I accidently drop by some blog. And lots of times its a pleasant surprise to find people who voice the same opinions as you. Personally, I find it very difficult to avoid revealing any strong emotions on my blog.

This brings me to a question I have asked myself a thousand times. Why do I blog?
Maybe because there is no other way to satisfy this urge to write.

I find it embarrassing when I am caught crying while watching movies. So what follows next, after a specially lachrymose scene, are furtive attempts to wipe the tears, not letting the others see your red eyes. But you never know, they could be doing the same thing :)

Tear-jerkers:

Sadma - The last scene where Sridevi is sitting in the train and come what may she does not recognise Kamal Hassan

Masoom - Jugal Hansraj looked so cute and innocent

Mr. India - the scene where the kids havent eaten for days

Sholay

Life is Beautiful

The Green Mile

Escape from Sobibor

The video of Heal the World - M . Jackson

Adverts I noticed:

Axe (a deo spray)
The one where Cupid is hovering about waiting to strike guys, but then the Axe effect does the job before sweet ol Cupid could.
And then in the end, there he is (C) with an "out of work" board next to him

The bacardi blast "where do you see yourself six months from now" one

There are some 13 yr olds and there are some 13 year olds.
Kids just into their teens. Kids who know how to spell marmoraceous, mistassini, solfeggio, voussoir, halogeton, dipnoous, peirastic, rhathymia ...

Sai Gunturi , I am in awe of you.
